M.D. MFooter.P.H. FAAP

Dr. Juana Maria Sanchez is the Medical Director of
La Vista Norcross Clinic. She is a practicing physician who has double certifications in Georgia, specializing in Cosmetic Medicine, Pediatrics and Family Practice.

She has been practicing medicine for over 30 years, since moving to Atlanta to further her education in Medicine at Emory University

Dr. Sanchez is originally from Monterrey, Mexico, and graduated from Medical School there in 1978. She then continued her medical training at Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia, graduating in 1987 with her Master’s Degree in Public Health. She followed Continuing Specialization in Pediatric Medicine, finally graduating in 1990. Dr. Sanchez started her private practice in the year 2000.

Dr. Sanchez is a physician dedicating her time entirely to the care of the patient as a whole, which includes body, mind, and spirit. Wanting to create a different model for her practice, differing from modern medicine that focuses on one problem, she has integrated her treatments using a holistic approach, while maintaining her personal touch. She recognizes the Doctor-Patient relationship as an important component; as it should be. For that reason, she has always been a solo practitioner. In addition, she caters to both the Anglo and the Hispanic communities.

Dr. Sanchez is very well known in the community. She is a member of the Group of Physicians of the Georgia Chapter. She belongs to multiple societies, including Fellow of American Academy of Pediatrics, American Academy of Cosmetic Physicians, The American Society of Laser Physicians, and Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta Group, among others.

In the past, she participated in radio talk shows discussing many health issues and in the Brazilian magazine talking about aesthetic issues. Dr. Sanchez is currently presenting for the Experts section of the radio show “La Vision Radio.net” ”She continues to work at her peak, as this is her passion.

Our Clinic's Ongoing Response to COVID-19

This is a trying time for many people on many levels, and families all over are doing their best to protect their well-being. Every family must find its own comfort level with the risks posed by a wide range of activities. We are aware that many individuals may still be avoiding in-person visits out of concern for potential COVID-19 infection. Our practice is providing care by telehealth, whenever possible, to protect our patients and staff from potential exposure to the virus.

However, the CDC also emphasizes that functions such as routine immunizations, cannot be performed over the phone and that vaccine-preventable diseases continue to pose a significant threat to your child as well as public health. Therefore, we encourage you to maintain your child’s well-care appointment schedule. To help ease any concerns you might have about visiting our practice, we thought it might be helpful to explain all the measures we have put into place to maximize your safety as well as the safety of our staff.

Appointments for patients with non-contagious issues are either being conducted via telehealth or scheduled during our well-visit hours, which are from 8:15 am to 5 pm. Sick appointments are either being conducted via telehealth, or scheduled during our separate sick visit hours, which are after 2 pm or all day until 7 pm via
telehealth.

Well visits can be conducted via Telemedicine or in-person from 9 am to 4:30 pm on weekdays. Telehealth hours are extended until 7 pm on weekdays and 9 am-1 pm on Saturday. We have developed the following protocols for in-office visits:

Schedule your appointment in advance.

Call when you arrive in the parking lot. Remain in your vehicle until you have further instructions. Payment by credit card can be handled by phone. Cash payments in-office.

We have also instituted new no-touch or physical-distancing check-in procedures, staggered appointments times, require universal masking, removed toys, and magazines, and developed virtual check-out procedures.

We’ve also made additional changes such as enhanced disinfection of our facilities between visits, maximizing physical distancing in our waiting rooms, and the daily screening of our staff. We ask that ONE healthy parent or guardian accompany patients to all in-person visits. Please avoid bringing additional children to appointments at this time. If your child is behind on immunizations or is due for a vaccine in the near future, please call at 770-446-2820 to schedule an appointment.

If you are unsure whether your child is up to date or in need of a vaccine, please ask our staff to check your child’s immunization records. Please know that our practice’s infection control measures are in line with the current guidance from the CDC and the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). We are confident that these policies will help us maintain the best possible health environment for your family, and for all our patients and staff.
