Each of us needs to put up our strongest defense against COVID-19. So make sure your body is fit to fight!
Staying home when you can, frequent handwashing and social distancing are still the best ways to protect yourself against coronavirus. But it’s also important to keep your immune system strong by living a healthy lifestyle. That includes getting enough sleep, exercising and eating well.
Check with your doctor to make sure you’re getting all your recommended care and screenings. And if you have a chronic health issue like high blood pressure, diabetes or heart disease, it’s more important than ever to keep your condition under control.
If you visit your doctor in person:
- wear a mask that covers your nose and mouth
- stay six feet away from others in lines and waiting rooms
- wash your hands often

What to do if you are sick
If you have COVID-19 symptoms, call ahead before visiting your doctor. Stay home except to get medical care. Take steps to care for yourself and protect others.
Visit the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) for more about getting care during COVID-19.
